Battling Belly Fat

Battling Belly Fat

The older we get, the more careful we have to be about what we eat, and the more we have to exercise to maintain our weight. And for most of us, the worst thing about this is when we gain weight it doesn’t at least have the decency to distribute itself evenly throughout our bodies. Instead it all gravitates to one spot and we begin to suffer from the dreaded MTS: Muffin Top Syndrome.

Why does this happen? It’s due in large part to the fact that the older we get, the more likely our bodies are to lose muscle mass and tone[i]. And of course the less muscle we have, the fewer calories we burn even at rest (because muscle mass is more metabolically active — or burns more calories — than fat mass)[ii], and the more likely we are to gain even more weight.

To make matters worse, the Mayo Clinic says, “many women notice an increase in belly fat as they get older — even if they aren’t gaining weight.”[iii] So even if your weight isn’t changing, you may notice that your body shape IS… and not for the better.

But you don’t have to just give up and buy some high-waisted “mom” jeans in attempt to keep your belly from pouring out the top of your pants. Instead, go on the offensive and beat that belly bulge.

Attack Strategy 1: Exercise

Exercise burns calories to help you slim down, can improve mood and is good for overall health. And if you add some strength training to your cardio you’ll build muscle, which can help you burn more calories even when you’re at rest!

Attack Strategy 2: Watch What You Eat

Cutting out high fat, high sugar foods is not only healthy, but may help you shed some extra pounds. Be especially wary of foods with refined sugar — like some crackers and white breads — that may not be as obviously full of sugar as a bag of candy but can still add plenty of empty calories to your diet.

Attack Strategy 3: Consider Extra Help

If trying to lose weight stresses you out, you’re more likely to binge on comfort foods and blow your diet. Plus, even ordinary, everyday stress can cause your body to increase or retain belly fat, which means your attempts to diet might actually be causing you to retain that unsightly belly fat. Talk about the ultimate backfire. But there are a few innovative supplement companies who have addressed this problem with what they call weight-loss “adjuncts.”

These compounds aren’t “diet pills” in the true sense of the word. Instead, they’re designed to help diet and exercise plans work by helping to reduce diet-related stress and anxiety. The most popular “belly fat” pill is called Relacore®. It’s sold over 12.7 million bottles worldwide and has been America’s #1 selling “belly fat” pill for five years running.

The Carter-Reed Company™, maker of Relacore, says the product was specifically formulated to work with diet and exercise to “help reduce tummy bulge by helping to reduce diet-related stress and anxiety… the same stress and anxiety that can lead to stubborn belly fat retention (not to mention that all-time diet killer ‘Nervous Binge Eating’).”

So if you feel like you’re losing the fight against belly fat, don’t surrender. You CAN beat it and get that slim-looking, sexy waistline you’ve been dreaming of!
